Having managed to turn things around at Aston Villa a bit, Youri Tielemans will be hoping to do the same with the Belgium national team.

Earlier on in the season, the midfielder, who signed at Villa Park on a free, was at a loss as to why he wasn’t playing, and his lack of minutes showed when he was called upon by Domenico Tedesco.

With his club situation now back on track, however, after he started against Fulham, the Aston Villa man now has to prove himself to his country, as explained by Le Soir.

They look at the players who need to show what they are capable of in the next couple of games against Serbia and Azerbaijan, and include Tielemans alongside the likes of Michy Batshuayi, Aster Vranckx and Leandro Trossard.

When it comes to Aston Villa player, they explain he is the one who has ‘disappointed the most’ in recent outings for Belgium, and he has now seen the likes of Amadou Onana and Orel Mangala take his spot in the midfield.

The big question is whether the next two games will be enough to convince Tedesco to consider Tielemans more, but there will be no better time than against Serbia on Wednesday evening, with it announced that the Everton midfielder will be missing due to a calf injury.

Time for the Aston Villa signing to step up, then.
