Most updates on Luton Town’s chase for LDU midfielder Oscar Zambrano have been coming from official sources at the Ecuadorian side.

Just recently, their director Esteban Paz had claimed that the English club ‘returned to the table’ following their summer efforts.

The LDU club chief is now again speaking about Luton Town’s efforts. Once again, he’s quoted by Olé, and claims the Premier League side have given up on the signing.

This new interview was given to Mach Deportes, and there he confirms there’s no longer interest.

“Luton Town left the table for Oscar Zambrano,” claimed Esteban Paz.

Olé recalls that Paz had previously claimed that Luton Town had offered US$4.5m for the player, and that wasn’t enough at the time.

LUD are said to be expecting a much bigger offer, as their request is US$7m. They have good reasons to believe that will arrive, as Ajax were recently linked to him.

Zambrano may be just 19, but already has 47 appearances for the Ecuadorian side and is expected to soon make his international debut with the national team.
