Manchester City are one of the clubs in the race for Buducnost Podgorica midfielder Vasilije Adzic, according to people at the Montenegrin club.
This report starts in Italy, where it was recently claimed that Juventus are also battling to get the 17-year-old signed.
As outlet TuttoJuve managed to have a word with Buducnost Podgorica’s director of football Andrija Delibasic, they asked him about the big interest Adzic has been drawing.
The club chief made it clear that Juventus aren’t the only side trying to land the youngster, and ended up revealing that Manchester City are one of those in the competition.
“For our Vasilije there are many teams that have inquired about the situation, including Juventus and more than five other Italian clubs,” Delibasic told TuttoJuve.
“With the Bianconeri there have been contacts, just like with other teams, but I can say that the official interest is from Manchester City and Barcelona. Together with the player and his family we will choose the solution for him and for the club because right now he is the best young player in Europe”.
Adzic was part of Buducnost Podgorica’s academy and was only promoted to their first team last summer.
Since then, he has made 18 appearances, with four goals and two assists, and that includes his performances in the Champions League and Conference League qualifiers.
It’s still unclear how much the Montenegrin club would demand for his sale, but with Manchester City and other big clubs involved, we could see them having to spend a little more to guarantee the signing.
