Hammarby sporting director Jesper Jansson has told the Swedish media Ögmundur Kristinsson will travel to England over a proposed move to Bristol City.
The Icelandic goalkeeper looks surplus to requirements with the Swedish club, and is now set to have a trial with the Championship side.
Speaking to Fotboll Direkt, Jansson was asked about reports from the English press that Kristinsson would be given a trial by Bristol City: “Yes, that’s right, he’s on his way there. Yes, we have had an agreement that we will try to help him there. Then we’ll see what this leads to.”
Kristinsson’s future with Hammarby looks uncertain, with reports the club will allow the 28 year old to leave on a free transfer this summer.
The Iceland international will be put through his paces in a trial game for Bristol City in the hope he can be offered a contract by the English side.
Niclas Eliasson has already arrived at Bristol City in this window, following his move from IFK, and Kristinsson could be the next player to be signed from the Allsvenskan.
Kristinsson has spent the last two season at Hammarby, and has been capped 14 times by his country.
