Wisla Krakow Academy Director Rafal Wisłocki has revealed Derby County and Norwich City are showing an interest in their highly rated youngster Kasper Masney. The 14-year-old has impressed for his club and country this year, and has also been linked with Aston Villa in recent weeks.
Speaking to Akademia Wisly, Wislocki said his academy is at the moment producing quality youngsters which has brought attention from clubs in England and Germany.
Wislocki confirmed Championship sides Norwich City and Derby County have been showing an interest in the likes of Masney this season, but maintains their objective with their youngsters is to bring them through to the senior team.
“It shows that the boys, who train at the Academy are similar – or even higher – level, in relation to their peers abroad, with English and German clubs. Besides interest from Liverpool, Derby County or Norwich City we have signs of interest from Hertha Berlin and Schalke. Of course, we remember that our main goal is to train players for the first team,” said the club’s academy boss.
Last month we covered reports from Poland that Masney will travel to England to be put through his paces by Aston Villa. The 14-year-old has just impressed in the Four Nations Tournament in Myślenice, which was attended by several scouts from various clubs from England.
Masney’s performances for Wisla Krakow’s youth side have also earned him a call up to the Poland national set-up for his age level.
