Turkish Super Lig side Gaziantep FK’s Romanian manager Marius Şumudica has spoken to his home country’s press with regards to Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Florin Andone, who’s currently on loan at Galatasaray.
The Romanian striker joined the Turkish giants on a season-long loan deal from Brighton during the last summer transfer window, but has failed to score a goal in three games for the Super Lig side.
Speaking about Andone to Sport.Ro, Şumudica said his compatriot will find it very difficult to break into Galatasaray’s side due to the competition for places: “For Andone it’s very difficult. Galatasaray are a point below from my team Gaziantep FK. He has a lot of competition. Lots of good players at Galatasaray are competing for the jersey.
“At Galatasaray, you have to score goals. Everybody expects you to do that. For me, Andone is a very good player but he’s not a natural goalscorer.”
There were recent reports in the Turkish media that Andone was unhappy about being left of Gala’s match-day squad for the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce last month.
It was expected he would be a regular starter when he joined from Brighton in September but with the arrival of Radamel Falcao on deadline day this hasn’t turned out to be the case.
Brighton have the option to call him back January as a part of their agreement with Galatasaray and there have been some claims in Turkey they could do this.
