As tends to be the case when Marina Granvoskaia is involved, talks revolving around the loan deal of Tiemoué Bakayoko to Milan are taking some time.
That’s because the shrewd Russian negotiator is always intent on getting the best deal possible for Chelsea, which has shown over the years with the club’s impressive sales of rotation players and decent deals for incomings.
Things are no different for Bakayoko, regardless of how much he wants the move to Milan to happen, as Granovskaia will always do what’s best for the Stamford Bridge side.
In this case, it’s getting as much money in the future for a player that has no place in Frank Lampard’s plans.
Gazzetta dello Sport explain on Monday that the ‘dialogue has stopped’ between the two sides on the right of redemption amount, with Chelsea wanting to set ‘at not less than €30m’ while Milan ‘instead aims to lower as much as possible, perhaps to €25m’.
The reason for that is the arrival of Sandro Tonali, which wasn’t expected at first, and ‘the expense for a second reinforcement in midfield will have to be calibrated with great attention’.
If they can’t get Bakayoko, then Milan will turn their attention to either Lille’s Boubakary Soumaré or Benfica’s Florentino Luís.
