Tottenham Hotpsur’s Alejo Véliz has ended up on Fiorentina’s radar.
That’s according to journalist Uriel Iugt, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state the Serie A side are keen on signing the striker.
He further adds the Italian club could make a formal offer to Tottenham in the ‘next few days’ to secure the 20-year-old’s services.
The journalist claims this is his own information, but makes no mention of the details of the proposal Fiorentina could offer.
This is backed up by Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, who adds Fiorentina are ‘increasing their pressure’ to sign the Argentina U21 international. He states that ‘developments are expected soon’ in this case.
The north London club signed the frontman from Argentine side Rosario Central in August 2023 and offered him a deal until 2029. He clocked in just 45 minutes from eight games in the first half of last season.
Spurs sent Véliz on loan to Sevilla in January, but his situation didn’t improve at the La Liga side.
Véliz has returned to Tottenham, and will be hoping to feature regularly next season. It remains to be seen whether that’ll be at Spurs, Fiorentina or another club.
