If you’re not aware of this by now, Tottenham youngster Bryan Gil is doing very, very well while on loan at Valencia.
The forward joined the Spanish side on loan in the January transfer window in search of the regular playing time that wasn’t on offer under Antonio Conte.
He’s found that with Jose Bordalas, quickly establishing himself as a key player for Los Che with a string of impressive performances.
We’ve covered several reports detailing how well Gil is doing, with the praise forthcoming and Valencia very keen to keep him beyond the end of this season.
Whether that happens remains to be seen, but in the meantime, the Tottenham man has continued to shine, as he did in Valencia’s 1-0 win over Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey semi-final last night.
Marca cover his performance today, lauding him as a player who ‘destroys the calm’ and ‘wakes up the enemy’s anxiety’ with the way he plays.
They say ‘he dribbles, he makes trouble, he presses, he crosses dangerously, and he works tirelessly’, all attributes that make him loved by the Spanish side and their fans.
The only thing missing is goals, but there is a feeling they will come sooner rather than later, at which point he’ll be ‘worth twice as much’ than he currently is.
That’s because he’s ‘unique’ and a ‘creator of mischief’ whom many teams would love to have in their forward line.
That ‘enthusiasm’ has not yet caught among his teammates, but it will, at which point he will ‘blow the bugle for them to follow’.
With more ‘consistency’ there is no doubt about his future, with Marca insisting Tottenham will have one of those players ‘they call stars’.
