According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are closing in on a deal for Egyptian winger Trezeguet, despite Wolverhampton Wanderers attempts to sign the player.
According to Hurriyet, Galatasaray have an agreement in principle with the Kasimpasa winger. The Turkish champions have reportedly offered Trezeguet €2.2m a season over four years, which has been accepted by the player.
It’s also claimed Wolves are in the race to sign the World Cup attacker, and have offered €5m for the player, which is his buyout clause.
Wolves are also prepared to pay him £1.4m a season, but it seems like Galatasaray are prepared to offer more.
Hurriyet say the only concern with regards to the deal is the payment structure, and Galatasaray are trying to convince Kasimpasa over this. Wolves could surely pay the amount in one go.
Trezeguet impressed for Kasimpasa last season but his World Cup performances haven’t matched this. There have been recent reports Leicester City dropped their interest in the player after his struggles in Russia.
