Leeds United are currently in talks to sign Hamburg forward Pierre-Michel Lasogga on loan for the season.
The German side are keen to offload the 25 year old before the deadline, and in the past few hours Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also been linked with the player.
It’s been claimed both Wolves and Aston Villa are expected to hold meetings with Lasogga after his discussions with Leeds United. Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce and Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo may be looking to do some last minute transfer business, as the two Championship sides look to strengthen their squads.
Hamburger Morgenpost have reported on the supposed interest from other clubs, with Lasogga’s camp insisting there are options for the forward other than Leeds United.
However, the German newspaper insists no other clubs have approached Hamburg to discuss signing Lasogga, which puts doubts on the claims Aston Villa and Wolves are set to meet the player.
Lasogga is now in England, where he’ll spend two days getting an overview of Leeds United, before making a decision on whether he will sign for the club.
Earlier claims from Germany’s Kicker made it sound like Lasogga had travelled to sort out the transfer, rather than on a fact finding trip.
The Championship club will be looking to bring in an experienced forward after the departure of Chris Wood to Burnley last week, and the German is an option.
