While the news that Brentford FC are getting closer to sealing a deal for Aaron Hickey is known, Corriere di Bologna bring a few more details on Monday.
They make it clear the latest bid from the Bees is the ‘right offer’, with the Serie A side set to receive €20m ‘including bonuses’.
In fact, they are sure the Scottish defender ‘will be a Brentford player’, as they are ‘the only club to have presented an official proposal in recent weeks’, and increased it, finding an agreement ‘for a figure of around €16.5m plus various bonuses’ that will take it to ‘just over €20m’.
Part of that fee ‘will go from Bologna to Hearts’, who kept a percentage ‘of around 10% of a future resale’ when they initially agreed to sell him to the Italians.
As for Brentford, they are getting a promising left-back, who was also reportedly courted by Arsenal, giving him a platform to impress in one of the world’s biggest leagues, and will eventually be hoping to make a profit of their own down the line.
