Portuguese newspaper O Jogo has a funny story about Diogo Dalot and Manchester United today.
It starts with a misleading headline, saying that the Red Devils should now have some competition in the race for the Porto right-back.
But these claims are actually coming from the English press, who this weekend, reported that seven clubs would be interested in the youngster as well.
Now the info that O Jogo have is far more positive for Manchester United. They claim that no matter how big the competition is, Dalot is on his way to Old Trafford.
The player is pretty convinced he wants to join José Mourinho’s side, and is only waiting for the clubs to find an agreement.
In case United and Porto don’t agree a fee, then the worst scenario would be to wait until June 30th, when his release clause can be triggered. That’s when the Red Devils can pay the €20m fee and take the player with no resistance from Porto.
Meanwhile, the clubs try to find a gentleman’s agreement to get a deal in a more friendly way.
A Bola on Saturday reported the deal as almost done.
