The Mexican media continues to claim that Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Tigres defender Carlos Salcedo.
The news broke earlier this week, when outlet Medio Tiempo wrote that Wolves are one of the clubs who could take the 28-year-old from his club in the January window.
Now we get that information backed up by W Deportes, who have a little more to say on this chase from the Premier League side.
It’s claimed that Salcedo has ‘already acknowledged’ the interest from Wolves, who could sign him in the winter market.
This time it’s claimed that the other clubs fighting for the signing are Bordeaux, Galatasaray and Palmeiras.
Now the big difference to the last story we covered is the price.
While Medio Tiempo claimed that Tigres could let Salcedo leave for only US$4m (£3m), this time W Deportes points out the player is protected by a US$10m (£7.3m) release clause, and that’s what makes his move so difficult.
The good thing is his contract with the Mexican side expires at the end of the year, so that could definitely be used as an argument for a discount.
