Like a few players out there, Denis Odoi is among those to have represented two different countries at first-team level.

He was selected for a friendly by Belgium all the way back in 2012, in a draw against Montenegro, but was never called back up after that.

That was when he was at Anderlecht, after which he transferred to KSC Lokeren, and that eventually led to him signing for Fulham.

He moved to Craven Cottage in 2016 for a very small fee of €1m, where he stayed for five and a half years, leaving them in January of this year to sign for Club Brugge.

Odoi has since played regularly for the Belgian side after his transfer from Fulham, eventually catching the eye of Ghana, whom he first represented in March of this year after switching allegiances.

While it might have been a bit of a gamble, it’s certainly worked out, because he has now been called up to go to the World Cup with his new sporting country.

Sud Info report on it, saying that ‘after exiling himself for six years at Fulham, he come-back is more than successful at Bruges, where he has quickly become one of the pillars of Carl Hoefkens’.

Great news for the player, whose decision to leave Fulham has clearly paid off.

During his time with the London club, he made 177 appearances in all competitions, scored seven goals and assisted another eight.
