Brentford, Southampton and Newcastle United are all today linked to SC Braga striker Vitinha.

This information comes from Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, who today feature a page-long story about how well the youngster has been doing for his club this season.

By having nine goals and five assists in 20 appearances, he’s now by far the most influential player in Braga’s attack, and that means a lot at a club where they had Ricardo Horta as their star.

When O Jogo turn to Vitinha’s future, it’s pointed out that he’s ‘followed’ by a few clubs. Those are Brentford, Southampton, Newcastle and Stuttgart.

All those clubs have watched Vitinha both in the Portuguese league and Europa League, and they’re also expected to see him in action for Portugal’s U21s in the friendlies against Czech Republic and Japan during this international break. O Jogo points out the player is ‘much appreciated for his speed, shock-power and eye for goals’.

The bad news for Brentford, Southampton and Newcastle is that Vitinha’s departure from Braga in January is considered ‘unlikely’, at least according to O Jogo. Since the player’s release clause is of €30m, that doesn’t sound like a lot for Premier League clubs.
