The Portuguese media was caught by surprise today when the news linking Porto to West Ham midfielder Felipe Anderson came out.
None of the local newspapers had a single word about it, and they started covering the rumours once they showed up in the English press.
Now there’s finally one outlet confirming the news, and that’s TVI24. Journalist Rui Pedro Braz received the information during the Mais Transferências show tonight.
He says Porto are indeed going for the midfielder, and will try to sign him on a one-year loan from West Ham.
The reporter points out that Felipe Anderson still has a good market value, but David Moyes doesn’t count on him, and that makes the deal possible.
It’s claimed that Porto are trying to close the deal, so the talks must be in advanced stages. Since the Portuguese transfer window only closes on Tuesday, there’s not a big hurry for the move to be done.
The Brazilian only played a couple of minutes in two Premier League matches this season, and wasn’t even used in the past two fixtures.
O Jogo have now joined the party and say the transfer is at an ‘advanced stage’ and should be done on Tuesday morning.
