Eric Garcia to Barcelona may still happen before the window closes this evening, reports Catalan newspaper Sport. Manchester City and the Blaugrana have both been stubborn in negotiations over the past month or so, but, as often, compromise may be found at the last minute.

Sport report Manchester City are now asking for a €10m flat payment plus a further €10m in potential bonus payments. Should Barcelona manage to reach that figure then Garcia will be under their ownership when the window closes.

It’s explained Barcelona’s last offer amounted to a total of €18m when all the variables were added on, that was still short of what City are willing to accept tonight so they need to find another €2m.

Garcia has refused to renew his contract with Pep Guardiola’s club, and was potentially set to leave the Etihad on a free transfer next summer. Barcelona have been confident that whatever happens with the defender, he’ll sign for them eventually.
