Dani Olmo isn’t going away from the media glare soon.
The Spain U21 player is everywhere right now. Making his debut for the national selection in October, Olmo threw himself right back into the consciousness of the country’s media, having moved to Dinamo Zagreb from Barcelona in 2014.
He’s now played three matches for the U21s, picking up an assist on the way, and it’s been reported Barcelona want him back.
Manchester United have also been popping up in most of the stories around the player, with serious interest claimed. On Wednesday, Sport reported Jose Mourinho’s club had initiated contact to sign the player, but had no success yet.
On Thursday the same Catalan newspaper names Manchester United as one of the clubs involved in a ‘war’ to get the signing done. The others are Barca, Liverpool, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
At this point it feels Sport are plucking names from the hat, and it can’t be long before Juventus get a mention.
A price for the transfer is set at €25m by Dinamo, and Sport believe interested clubs will try and negotiate that down. Being a Catalan newspaper, they state Olmo’s preference would be Barcelona.
