Dani Olmo has very much been pulled into the rumour mill over the past week.

The Catalan media believe Barcelona are interested in signing their former youth player back and that work is going on behind the scenes.

But no Barcelona transfer rumour would be enough for the club’s local media without others being pulled into the equation. Several from England have had the honour this week, among them Liverpool.

Thursday’s edition of Sport reports the Anfield club are one of those involved in a ‘war’ to sign the 20 year old from Dinamo Zagreb. Olmo has ‘set off alarms’ at Liverpool and the Reds are in the chase to sign him.

His Croatian club are thought to want a transfer fee of €25m, but Sport believe those interested will try and get the price down.

Liverpool’s problem, and that of others, is that Olmo is said to prefer a Barcelona transfer over others. The Catalan media almost always believe this to be the case of any player.

Therefore, the battle is to convince Dinamo to accept less, and Olmo that he shouldn’t return to where he’s been before.
