Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton are after Rayan Aït-Nouri, and that really isn’t a surprise.
The Eagles have been linked with a move for the Angers SCO defender a number of times in the past, and since he’s managed by Jorge Mendes, it’s only natural for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side be chucked in there too.
This is what Foot Mercato are reporting in an article claiming that both Manchester City and Manchester United have made their first moves to sign the left-back.
‘Firm offers’ were sent to Mendes, while ‘concrete’ ones were passed onto the club, meaning those two are probably in the lead as things stand.
It’s said Aït-Nouri travelled to England on Tuesday to visit the infrastructures of ‘several clubs’, including those of the two Manchester sides, but it isn’t specified whether Wolverhampton or London were part of his trip.
Foot Mercato state both Crystal Palace and Wolves are still hoping to ‘win the bet’ when it comes to the defender, while Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco and Leicester took information in the past.
If you were to ask us, and we know you haven’t but we’ll tell you anyway, Wolverhampton are likely to stand the better chance over Roy Hodgson’s side, mostly because Mendes likes to put his younger players there to get experience without the pressures that come with a move to the likes of United or City.
Then again, it all depends on what Aït-Nouri wants, and if he feels ready to play in the top clubs in the league and fight for a place against Benjamin Mendy and Luke Shaw, so be it.
