Failing in their bid to attract Michy Batshuayi to Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace are still looking for a new striker to help them improve on last year’s rather poor season (FA Cup final aside).
Simone Zaza was a target back in January, and while that option seems to have come to an end, another Serie A striker could be on their radar.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Alan Pardew and co. are interested in bringing Fiorentina’s Khouma Babacar to the Premier League, and the Italian club would be ready to sell, but only at the right price.
The Italian newspaper say La Viola are currently waiting for a “two digit” offer (we’re guessing they mean £10m and above, and not just a tenner) from England for the Senegalese striker.
Of course, Palace aren’t the only ones from our beloved country to want the 23-year-old, with both West Ham (also desperately looking for a new striker) and Middlesbrough.
There were reports yesterday the player’s agent had travelled to England to hold talks with both Palace and Boro, but there is yet to be an update on this voyage.
