Paris Saint Germain would welcome renewed efforts from Crystal Palace and West Ham United for striker Hugo Ekitike in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Le Parisien, who cover how PSG are determined to get rid of Ekitike in the coming weeks.
The newspaper explains that the French club are waiting for the official opening of the winter window to continue their rebuild, with Brazilians Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo already signed and set to join.
While they will arrive to bolster Luis Enrique’s squad, there are two candidates to go, and they are Hugo Ekitike and Layvin Kurzawa.
Two English clubs, Crystal Palace and West Ham, positioned themselves for the signing at the end of the summer and offered a loan with an option to buy but that deal never went through and he remained in Paris.
They’re still keen to get rid, though, and the striker ‘maintains a good rating in England’ where another loan move would be considered ‘a good deal’ for all involved. Indeed, Le Parisien say that is the best PSG can still hope for.
They see Ekitike as a player with something of a rare CV as he is young, a goal scorer and has experience of big clubs while also being determined to bounce back and get his career on track.
Whether Crystal Palace and West Ham are ready to return to the bidding isn’t mentioned but they were in the mix in the summer and a loan is seemingly there to be done in January if they want it.
