Late on Thursday, reports started surfacing suggesting Crystal Palace are interested in signing Yannick Carrasco from Dalian Yifang in the winter market.
It wasn’t mentioned if the 26-year-old or the Chinese Super League side are willing to do business with the English club.
The winger is currently in Belgium training alone and is waiting to leave Dalian.
Het Laatste Nieuws now claim Roy Hodgson’s side ‘want’ the wideman and are negotiating with Dalian to take Carrasco on a loan deal.
With Dalian not being flexible when it comes to negotiating their player’s transfer, Carrasco’s camp ‘do not want to run too fast’. They are being cautious.
That’s probably wise, the player has experience of trying to force the Chinese club to let him go and it not going very well for him.
Should there be an agreement between Dalian and Palace, Carrasco will then get on the first plane to London. He’s keen on leaving China and would rather ‘leave today than tomorrow, mainly for family reasons’.
HLN adds that despite earning €10m per season at Dalian, his sporting career comes first and a move to Palace will help him improve his chances of cementing a place in the national team’s starting XI.
