Soualiho Meite is a much wanted midfielder according to repeated claims in the Belgian media. In February it was reported that both Crystal Palace and Sunderland held an interest in Meite, but he was more interested in waiting for a club like Manchester United.
Interest from Crystal Palace and Sunderland was said to be ‘concrete’ and interest from Manchester United non-existent, but Meite has lofty ambitions and feels he can do better.
Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad now report that Hull City are also keen, with Marco Silva’s side making a €13m approach during the winter transfer window. Meite and his agent knocked that back too, believing that it’s better to wait for something bigger.
Meite plays for Zulte Waregem on loan from Lille. There’s a purchase option and the two clubs are getitng their heads together to sort out how a transfer fee will be cut up in the summer.
Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Hull City will find it very difficult to convince the player, with it being claimed there’s interest from AS Monaco and German clubs too. What gives the Premier League sides some hope is whether the other interested parties would be willing to pay as much for the young Frenchman.
