Managing to keep Wilfried Zaha from the likes of Tottenham this summer, Crystal Palace can now look forward to another year with the Ivory Coast international, who wasn’t called up by his national team manager for the current break.
The reason given by Kamara Ibrahim was that the Eagles’ star needed to sort out ‘personal issues’, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Contacted by Ivoire Soir, Zaha’s father explained the situation surrounding his son, and didn’t hold back when voicing his discontent.
He said: “My son was surprised by not being picked for the game against Rwanda. He had given the green light to play. He’s ready. After a talk with the manager, he was told he’d be picked. Then, to our great surprise, his name wasn’t on the list.”
Tiendé Zaha asked the Ivory Coast manager to tell the truth to the fans, and reveal whether he has a problem with the Crystal Palace man.
The belief is that this could all have to do with a conversation Kamara and Zaha had after a preseason game.
The player’s father continued: “Wilfried told him that the conditions in which the players were during international breaks weren’t good, and a few things needed to be looked at. Is it wrong to say it? He only wants for things to improve around the national team. This manager surprises me. Wilfried never gave him conditions”.
At least it’s not an injury, and that’s the main thing for Roy Hodgson and Crystal Palace fans.
