This morning, we covered a report from Super Deporte which said that Real Betis are working on the signing of Vicente Guaita from Crystal Palace.

It’s been claimed the La Liga side aren’t happy with their options for the goalkeeping position, and ‘activated’ their plan to bring the 33-year-old back to his home country.

The article said this would be a good opportunity for Guaita to return to Spain, since it’s now been two years since he moved to England to join Crystal Palace.

But in a report from ABC de Sevilla, it’s said he’d have one more personal reason to go home, and that would be his family.

Even though ABC de Sevilla was mostly covering the original report from Super Deporte, they add that Guaita ‘would be thinking of going back to Spain to get closer to his relatives’.

With the goalkeeper now entering his final year of contract with Crystal Palace, Real Betis considers him to be a target who will fit their transfer budget for the summer.
