Called up to the national team for the current international break, Joachim Andersen will not be taking part in Denmark’s upcoming games.
That’s according to the Danish FA on Twitter, who make the situation very clear, revealing that the Crystal Palace defender ‘leaves the national team camp’, and is now ‘traveling home’.
It’s explained the Eagles star arrived ‘with a minor injury, which he unfortunately has not recovered from’.
They wish the Crystal Palace man a ‘really good recovery’, and state he will now be replaced by Andreas Maxsø, currently captain at Brøndby.
Joachim Andersen forlader landsholdslejren.
This will come as a blow to Andersen, who has been key in the good form found by Patrick Vieira’s side of late, but it will also allow him to fully recover in time for their next game against Burnley.
The London side have not lost a game in the league since their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool, drawing four and winning two, including a great 2-0 victory over Manchester City, since.
Andersen arrived from Lyon in the summer after a good loan at Fulham last season, and has appeared in all 11 of his club’s games in the Premier League to date.
