Serie A side Napoli have been in contact with the ‘entourage’ of Crystal Palace striker Aleksander Sørloth ahead of a possible move this summer.
That’s according to Area Napoli, who say the Italian club are ‘gathering information’ on the striker as they look to reinforce their forward line.
Sørloth has spent this season on loan at Trabzonspor from Crystal Palace, having found playing time and form hard to come by at Selhurst Park.
He has flourished with the Turkish side, scoring 29 goals and registering ten assists in 44 games in all competitions so far.
That form has naturally earned him attention from around Europe, with even the most prominent clubs such as Real Madrid linked with making a move.
It is Napoli who are pressing ahead, though, according to Arena Napoli, who explain that Trabzonspor are set to trigger a ‘mandatory option’ to buy Sørloth from Crystal Palace permanently for €6m as he will have played in more than 50% of their league and cup games come the end of the season.
He will, therefore, be theirs to do with as they please and ‘if desired’ they could sell him and make a quick and easy profit.
Napoli are an interested party and are ‘gathering information’. However, it is not clear whether that is for the future or this summer, although the latter would be ‘difficult’ to pull off.
It’s explained that Sørloth, who is ‘physically powerful’ and can play with both feet could prove to be an ‘interesting investment’ for the club moving forward.
At the moment they are focused on securing a deal for Lille striker Victor Osimhen, with them waiting for the French side to make a decision on him after negotiations between the two clubs.
