Steven Bergwijn has completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur and his former club PSV Eindhoven want to use the money from his sale to sign a new left-back.
Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt has been on the Eredivisie club’s radar and on January 28th, Eindhoven Dagblad explained PSV have made an offer in excess of €7m for the defender.
Later that day, we carried a report from Voetbal International explaining the Dutch club have increased their offer to €9m, but the Eagles are demanding €10m.
Another report from Votebal International now states PSV submitted a third bid worth €11m with bonuses included. Unfortunately for them, Roy Hodgson’s side rejected it and raised their demands to €15m for the Netherlands international.
The situation has forced PSV to look elsewhere and the football magazine explains they are closing in on AC Milan’s Ricardo Rodríguez.
It’s claimed the two clubs have found an agreement for the Swiss international’s loan deal until the end of the season. Milan will pay part of Rodríguez’s salary.
