Real Betis fullback Álex Moreno has enjoyed a good campaign in his first season in the top flight.
The Seville based club signed the 26-year-old from Rayo Vallecano for €7m plus €1m in bonuses last summer. With four assists in 23 league appearances this season, the left-back’s performances have not gone unnoticed.
AS now claims Premier League clubs have set their sights on the left-back, with Crystal Palace being one of the sides following him.
It’s stated the Eagles have ‘probed’ the possibility of ‘hiring’ the player in the next transfer window.
The newspaper states Betis will consider allowing Moreno to leave, if they can triple the investment they made last summer. This means the Spanish side will need in excess of €20m to sanction the defender’s sale.
Moreno is viewed as an offensive fullback and AS are of the belief that he would excel in England because ‘offensive fullbacks are becoming more fashionable’ there.
If Moreno makes a switch to Selhurst Park, he will be competing with Patrick van Aanholt for a place in Palace’s starting XI.
