Takvim report Fenerbahce and Crystal Palace are in talks with regards to Josef de Souza heading to Selhurst Park before next week’s deadline.
Yesterday the central midfielder was linked with a move to Crystal Palace after Turkey’s Star reported the Premier League side had offered €12m.
According to Takvim, both clubs are still in discussions, and Fenerbahce are demanding €18m from Crystal Palace. However, the Eagles are only prepared to increase their offer to €13m.
Despite his initial stance over the player staying in Istanbul, Takvim say Fenerbahce manager Phillip Cocu has given the green light to transfer Souza because the Turkish club need to sell some players to balance the books.
Souza was linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion last summer but the Baggies pulled out of a deal at the last minute. The player has also been linked with a move to Watford in recent weeks and they could provide competition to Crystal Palace.
The Brazilian’s contract will expire at the end of next season and Fenerbahce’s board have growing reasons to sell.
