After losing Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United, Crystal Palace will be on the hunt for a new right-back this summer.
Replacing the young Englishman will be no easy feat and so far there have been few suggestions about who the Eagles may be looking at in that regard.
Fox Sports offer up a suggestion today, reporting that Palace are interested in Al-Ahli Jeddah right-back Paulo Díaz.
The 24-year-old is attracting the interest of River Plate, with Marcelo Gallardo a particular fan of him, but Fox say it will not be easy to get him.
Al-Ahli have the player tied down to a contract until 2021 and are seemingly not keen on losing someone they only signed last summer. However, Díaz is keen on the move and specifically wants to work under Gallardo.
They’ll have to battle, though, with Crystal Palace said to have ‘approached’ the Arab side over a transfer, suggesting that there is already contact between the two clubs about the player and the interest is there.
There’s no suggestion of a transfer fee for the Chilean but it seems unlikely there would be a big fee involved given his current club and the fact he went there for just £2.37m last summer.
