Crystal Palace initiate contact for €30m midfielder, heavy Premier League competition

 

Crystal Palace are the latest English club to join the long list of those who have been recently linked to the Sporting midfielder William Carvalho.

According to Portuguese newspaper Record today, Frank De Boer’s side have made a recent approach for the 25-year-old. They’ve contacted the Lions to know the conditions of a possible transfer.

Sporting are looking to make €30m with Carvalho’s sale, which is what Crystal Palace will have been informed. In response, Palace have shown they can ‘advance’ for the player, but are still to make an official bid.

Record recalls that Carvalho is currently wanted by West Brom and Manchester City as well. What they don’t mention is the recent reports from other papers, saying Arsenal have made bids for him in the past few days.

The player’s will to make a Premier League move has never been a secret, but no one seemed keen on paying what Sporting demanded. This would be an interesting move for Crystal Palace, as Carvalho appears to be a player who would suit the league well.
