La Repubblica are once again reporting Crystal Palace could return with an effort for Christian Kouamé, who came very close to signing for the Eagles in the last winter market.

A knee injury saw the move from Genoa cancelled, but Fiorentina then took the risk anyway, getting the attacker on a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

This season the 23-year-old has featured in 13 Serie A matches, as a centre forward, and scored just one goal. Recently he’s been losing prominence for the Tuscany club, forced to accept late substitute appearances.

He was, however, part of the Fiorentina side, for 15 minutes at least, which pulled off a big surprise by beating Juventus 3-0 on December 22nd.

The Italian newspaper report Crystal Palace haven’t given up on the player, and signing Kouamé remains on their agenda. It’s pointed out Fiorentina made a big investment when signing him from Genoa, and rate him for the future.

Therefore, Roy Hodgson’s side would have to make a ‘really impressive offer’, with funds which would allow La Viola to replace the player in their squad.
