Crystal Palace interest in Paul-Georges Ntep is pretty inconvenient for Wolfsburg, reports Kicker. The German club had expected to get an easy deal done with Rennes to sign the 24 year old attacker, so the last thing they needed was a Premier League club edging into the situation.
Wolfsburg have confirmed their interest in the French footballer, and a deal was expected to go through at around €5m but Crystal Palace being dragged in by L’Equipe will ‘inevitably’ raise the price believe Kicker.
The transfer of Julian Draxler to PSG wasn’t exactly secret and Rennes will be well aware the German club have money to spend, it’s only natural for them to try every trick to increase a transfer fee.
Given all of that, there may be doubt over whether Crystal Palace are genuinely interested, or if they’re simply being used to persuade Wolfsburg into believing they really need to pay more money and get things done quickly.
