Crystal Palace clearly have some serious transfer interest at FC Porto.
The Premier League club have been scouting the Portuguese side repeatedly this season, and attend more matches than they miss, especially when the club are playing at home.
It’s led to endless articles linking the club with Hector Herrera. The Mexican midfielder has had a contract expiring at the end of the current season and, covering the scouting trips, we suggested he could be a target.
Then the English media pushed it too far and claimed the Portuguese press were reporting things they simply weren’t.
Anyway, it’s possible he’s the target, just as it’s possible Crystal Palace have their eye on one of his teammates instead.
A Bola report the club had someone at Saturday’s match, as Porto beat SC Braga 1-0. The Portuguese newspaper don’t pretend to know who Roy Hodgson’s side are watching, but there’s clearly a target being identified and it will be no surprise if an offer arrives over the next couple of transfer windows.
Francisco Soares was Porto’s best player, scoring the only goal of the game.
