On Tuesday, Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić confirmed his side are in talks with Crystal Palace over a deal for Chris Richards.
The Eagles have taken the first step as they have ‘already agreed’ a five-year deal with the centre-back.
That’s according to Bild, who explain Crystal Palace have made a proposal to the German champions.
The offer will be worth between €15m and €20m including bonuses. This is likely to be accepted by Bayern as the report states the defender’s move to Selhurst Park is in the final stages.
Having invested €1.1m on signing the 22-year-old from FC Dallas in 2020, the Bavarian club will now make a hefty profit from his impending sale to the Premier League side.
Sky Deutschland also report Richards is edging closer towards joining Patrick Vieira’s side. They add the Bundesliga winners and Crystal Palace are ‘about to agree’ the defender’s transfer. The Eagles’ offer will be around €15-20m including bonuses.
With two clubs set to find an agreement for Richards’ transfer, Sky add that he will not be part of the Bayern squad for the pre-season trip to the United States.
