Galatasaray are already planning on sending midfielder Tanguy Ndombele back to Tottenham as they are ‘not satisfied’ with his performances since his arrival on loan in the summer.
That’s according to Eson Haber, who say the Turkish side already have a replacement lined up for the much-maligned Tottenham man.
Ndombele joined them on loan from Spurs in the summer when it was made clear he was not a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans at the club, despite him seemingly giving everyone a chance to impress.
He’s been unable to get back to his best in Turkey so far, continuing something of a theme for him after similarly different loan spells at former club Lyon and then Napoli last season.
That’s led to plenty of criticism over the last month or so, with various reports in Turkey explaining how he’s underperforming, not liked by his manager and even overweight.
The pile on has been considerable, and in some cases a little bit unfair, but Eson Haber continue today and say he has not performed ‘at the desired level’ and so is finding it difficult to get into the squad.
It is because of this coach Okan Buruk has ‘run out of patience’ and considers the whole deal ‘disappointing’, so much so the club have already made their mind up to not go any further than the loan and send him back to Tottenham.
Indeed, they’re already eyeing a move for Molde’s Emil Breivik as a replacement, perhaps hinting at their desire to get rid of Ndombele as soon as possible.
Whether they can remains to be seen but it’s clear that something needs to be done as the situation is clearly extremely toxic at this point, verging on bullying from the Turkish media, and there’s a feeling that something might need to get done in January rather than next summer.
One potential bright side for the player is that there could be a new income stream on the way as companies in Turkey look to take advantage of the situation.
FotoSpor explain that ‘many individuals and companies’ have applied to the Turkish Patent Office to register hamburgers under Ndombele’s name.
According to them the ‘NdomBurger’ is on its way and companies are even planning to approach the Frenchman about potential advertising agreements.
Every cloud has silver lining, as they say, or perhaps it would be more applicable to say every burger has a silver wrapper in this case.
