Earlier this week, Corriere dello Sport stated Liverpool have included Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode on their target list for the winter market.
The right-back made his first team debut at the start of last season, where he made 37 appearances. His game time have been limited this season, especially in the league.
Kayode has been restricted to 18 minutes of action from two Serie A appearances. New La Viola manager Raffaele Palladino has favoured Dodô ahead of him in the league.
Journalist Luca Calamai, writing in his column for Firenze Viola, mentions Liverpool when covering the 20-year-old’s situation.
Calamai says the defender isn’t going through a good moment with the Italian club. He’s of the belief Kayode can start to convince the manager, by showcasing his qualities, when given opportunities in the UEFA Conference League.
Despite Italy U21 international current situation at the club, the journalist claims he’s still a ‘formidable talent’. Therefore, he wants Fiorentina to ‘cover their ears’ to any possible approach from Liverpool.
According to Calamai, the Conference League finalists shouldn’t consider selling Kayode unless Liverpool offer €50m. He could struggle to get regular game time at Anfield, if Arne Slot’s side were to sign him in January.
