Portuguese newspaper Record today features a pretty strong front page about Sporting’s chase for Coventry City star Viktor Gyökeres.

The outlet claims the striker is ‘already packing his bags’ for his move to Lisbon, as there’s an ‘imminent agreement’ between the clubs.

Following the unsuccessful talks from the past couple of weeks, it’s said Sporting now offered Coventry City €18m plus €2m in bonuses and the percentage of a future sale.

The part in a future move is exactly what the clubs are said to be discussing right now, as well as the payment method. Still, everything points towards to a ‘favourable’ ending, as there will be a ‘total agreement’ once that issue is sorted.

With Coventry City already linked with a replacement, that’s seen as a big sign that Gyökeres should be on his way to Portugal.

It’s also claimed that a change of agents helped the deal.

The striker was being represented by two different companies, and one of them saw their contract expire on Monday.

With fewer people involved, there was a ‘push’ for the deal to move faster.
