Italian website Calcio Mercato has an interview with Gianni Vitali, the agent of AC Milan player Davide Calabria.
The 22-year-old right-back has been a pretty important piece in Gennaro Gattuso’s team this season, and his good form is the reason he’s been linked to several clubs in the past few months.
Speaking to Calcio Mercato, Gianni Vitali has talked about this chase for his client, and was especially asked about recently reported interest from Manchester United.
“No real negotiations, no, but the demonstrations are there and they have been there,” Vitali told Calcio Mercato. “I’ve never sat down with anyone because of the simple fact that he’s very well where he is, he’s young and he plays at high levels, it seems to me normal he could be interesting for important teams.”
“Manchester United have never called me, it has never gone beyond some talk, it’s difficult to find better than Milan.”
Asked about which clubs are interested in Calabria, the agent didn’t want to reveal the names, but claimed that there are English pretenders.
“I prefer not to do it, but I can say they were a couple of English clubs and a couple of Spaniards.”
Besides Manchester United, the only English club we’ve seen being linked to Calabria were Everton. The very same Calcio Mercato reported an year ago that the Toffees were about to make a ‘concrete assault’ for the player, but things went quiet since then.
