Mileta Rajovic left Watford late in the summer transfer window despite scoring once in the Championship for the Hornets.
He was loaned out to Brondby, where he has started to impress already. He’s racked up a tally of three goals in the Superliga, grabbing an impressive brace in the big game against Midtjylland at the weekend.
There is now a lot of talk about the 25-year-old in the Danish press, because Watford have the option to recall the striker from his loan stint in January.
The player also spoke about it yesterday and former Denmark player and current pundit Stig Tofting has now spoken to TipsBladet about Rajovic’s situation.
“There are six Superliga games and maybe three cup games left before they go on the winter break. It could well be that they end up calling him back.”
The ex-Denmark international, who also had a stint at Bolton Wanderers, also stated his belief that the Hornets are also licking their lips at the prospect of having Rajovic back in the side.
“First of all, Brondby must be happy as long as they have him.
“I think a lot of clubs would like to bring in a player like that, and there’s no doubt that if he comes up and scores double figures, they’re sitting at Watford thinking we’ll snap him right back.”
Tofting also went on to suggest that Brondby should look to keep the Dane at the club and make sure that he uses them as a ‘springboard’ for progress.
Perhaps Rajovic doesn’t really need a springboard anymore, considering he scored ten times in the Championship last season and made a mark in England.
