Earlier on Monday, we covered claims that Tottenham were interested in Gianluca Scamacca.
It was fairly clear that the Sassuolo striker is an alternative to Dusan Valhovic, who became the replacement option for Harry Kane should the England International be sold to Manchester City.
That never happened, but the striker’s future remains a question mark going forward, regardless of the arrival of Antonio Conte.
In fact, Gazzetta dello Sport suggest the Italian manager may even prefer to work with Vlahovic instead of Kane.
Taking to their website, they state ‘many clues lead to the Premier League’ when it comes to the Serbian forward, as ‘Tottenham dote on him’, and while it does depend on Kane’s future, Conte ‘has put Dusan’s name at the top of the list since the first minutes of his arrival in London’.
To us, that sounds like the former Chelsea manager is desperate to have the Fiorentina star under his orders in London, but it will take a lot of money to prise him away either in January or next summer.
On top of the already high transfer fee, it’s expected that €8-10m would be needed in commissions as well as the player’s ‘mega salary’, who has allegedly already said no to €5-6m a year from Fiorentina.
All things to take into account, but, then again, if Harry Kane is sold…
