Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere’s current deal at the Emirates runs down this summer and so far he’s not signed a new contract to extend his stay at the north London club.
Subsequently, it looks like his future lies away from his current employers.
The 26-year-old has not been a regular inclusion in the Gunners’ starting lineup in the Premier League in the 2017/18 season, making only 12 starts in the league.
Gareth Southgate didn’t include him in the 23-man England squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Wilshere has expressed his frustration over being dropped from the Three Lions squad.
Now, according to the French newspaper L’Equipe, the latest disappointment may have made the midfielder consider his future could lie away from England.
Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as a surprise possible destination for Wilshere this summer. PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has been offered the chance to sign the midfielder ‘in recent hours’ by the player’s representatives.
Thiago Mota has already announced his decision to retire, while Lassana Diarra, 33, cannot be included in PSG’s long-term plans.
L’Equipe don’t talk the chances of a transfer up, and Thomas Tuchel would likely have some say in that, but it seems Wilshere and his representatives have big plans this summer.
