Dele Alli was being linked with a move to PSG even before Mauricio Pochettino took over at the club, so given the former Tottenham man is now in place it’s no surprise to see the rumours building.
Over the weekend, L’Equipe presented Dele Alli as a priority target for the French champions, but that was very much conditional on them offloading one or more of their own players in the January market.
There’s an argument PSG are overloaded in midfield, so that’s the area they’d be looking to market.
Foot Mercato took things one stage further in a Sunday exclusive. The French news source claims Pochettino has now spoken with the Tottenham player about a potential move to the Ligue 1 club.
According to the claims, Dele Alli was very close to making the move to PSG during the last transfer window, yet Daniel Levy’s demands then scuppered the transfer. With the player still not a key piece under Jose Mourinho, an exit may be likelier in this window than the last one.
The insinuation is that Pochettino spoke to his former player in the past few days, and Dele Alli is ‘clearly’ interested in the move. Helping matters is Leonardo, with the PSG sports director maintaining contract with the Spurs man’s entourage.
