According to claims in the Italian media, Cremonese have stepped up their pursuit of Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci. The 27 year old has been linked with the Serie B side in recent days, but they’ll face competition from Greek club PAOK.
Cuore Grigio Rosso have reported Cremonese have now made contact to sign the Leeds United outcast, but it’s not been revealed if this is with his agent or the Championship club. The Italian side were promoted from Lega Pro last season, and are looking to bring in reinforcements this summer to compete in Serie B.
However, it’s been claimed a deal to bring the Leeds United player to Cremonese will be complicated, given Bellusci’s agent held talks with PAOK this week.
Bellusci will almost certainly leave Leeds United this window after being told by Thomas Christiansen he has no future with the English club. The central defender returned to Leeds United for preseason training, after Empoli didn’t take up their option to make his move permanent.
