Takvim have reported Fenerbahçe are interested in signing Arsenal attacker Joel Campbell. The Turkish newspaper claim the Yellow Canaries have been chasing the Costa Rican for almost 3 years, but haven’t been able to sign him.
The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Sporting Lisbon and it’s understood the Portuguese club don’t have a right of redemption for the Arsenal player.
Takvim say Fenerbahçe have contacted both Arsenal, and Joel Campbell’s agents about a move and the Turkish club are optimistic about future developments. It’s expected Fenerbahçe will make a loan offer to Arsenal, with an option to buy the forward next summer for a fee of €3-4m.
Campbell has had five different loan spells since his move to Arsenal after failing to cement a place in Arsene Wenger’s side. It seems Campbell isn’t in the long term plans of Wenger, and the player could again be sent out on loan next season.
