Liverpool fans, we’ve got something a little bit different for you today, and it involves throw-ins.
You might have seen an article from the Liverpool Echo lately about Thomas Grønnemark, who has been reported to be helping the Reds with their throw-ins, himself the owner of the world record for longest throw-in attempt, reaching 51.33 meters.
Speaking to Ritzau press agency, relayed by DK, the Dane admitted that he had an ‘agreement’ with Jürgen Klopp’s team, but refused to reveal what it was for.
On top of that, he also dodged the question about whether or not he was directly involved with the first-team.
However, previously working with FC Mitdjylland and AC Horsens to help them with their throw-ins, it’s fairly easy to figure out what he’ll be dishing out advice for on the training ground, world record aside.
He said: “I have a confidentiality clause in my contract about my deal with Liverpool, so I have not said anything and the club has not officially announced anything.”
What he was ready to divulge, however, was that he was ‘not only working with long throws, but throw-ins across the board’.
So, if you see an improvement in throw-in distances on your next trip to Anfield, or we see an increase in goals scored from long throw attempts, you’ll know exactly why that’s happened, even if it’s all meant to be hush hush.
One thing we can suggest is that if you meet Thomas Grønnemark on the street, don’t tell him any of your secrets because he doesn’t appear to be very good at keeping them.
