Trent Alexander-Arnold’s agreement with Real Madrid is ‘absolutely complete’ and he could join them from Liverpool before the Club World Cup.

That’s according to AS, who report that the full-back’s arrival from Liverpool is ‘imminent’ and a six-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu is waiting for him.

The newspaper reports that his presence at the Club World Cup is ‘very possible’, although that would require an agreement with Liverpool as reports earlier today made clear.

The right-back announced he would be leaving Liverpool on Monday after 20 years at the club. This comes after months of speculation about a move to Real Madrid, who can sign him on a free transfer this summer as his current deal at Anfield is expiring.

Reports today have made it clear that they would like to sign the defender before the Club World Cup, taking advantage of the special transfer window, the clubs competing in that have been handed to sign players before the major transfer window opens.

That would require an agreement with Liverpool, with it explained that Madrid would pay the remainer of Alexander-Arnold’s wages or offer a payoff to make this happen.

Whether the Reds agree remains to be seen but it seems there’s confidence in Spain that he will be in Real Madrid’s Club World Cup squad.
